| Medicinal Properties | Antispasmodic, antidotal. Whole plant: tonic, astringent, stomachic, febrifuge, diaphoretic, alterative. Seeds: anthelmintic and alexipharmic. |
| Medicinal Use | The juice of the plant is given to children with urinary incontinence. A decoction of it is also given in diarrhea, stomachache and for cough and colic pain. Plant possess anti cancerous property. Seeds: Cures diseases caused by roundworms and threadworms, coughs, flatulence, intestinal colic, dysuria, leucoderma, psoriasis and other chronic skin-diseases. The seeds are made into a paste with lime juice and used for destroying pediculi. Leaves: useful in conjunctivitis, and in lacrimation, eaten as a potherb.

| Regional Habitat | Frequently occurs in wet and dry soil and on the rock cervices. During the rainy season this plant is erect and robust upto 1m tall; after rains in the month of February-April or summers, it shows reduction in size forming small diffuse habit. Distribution: almost throughout the Rajasthan. |
| Description | An erect, rarely decumbent, annual herb grows up to 75 cm in height. Stem: slender, grooved and ribbed. Leaves: simple, alternate, variable in shape, broadly elliptic or lanceolate, membranous or coriaceous. Flowers: pinkish and purple, rounded or flat-topped corymbs. Achenes: oblong, terete, & slightly narrowed at the base. Fruits: oblong achenes, slightly narrowed base, white hairs on one side. Flowers and fruits appears during August-April.
