| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Amaricoccus |
| Species: | Amaricoccus kaplicensis |
| Description: | Amaricoccus kaplicensis,The cells are pleomorphic and colonies are mucoid on GS agar. The distinctive features of this species are that it utilizes D- galactoside acid lactone and a-ketovaleric acid and does not utilize gentiobiose, p-methyl-D-glucoside, inositol, and lactamide.
