AQUAMICROBIUM AESTUARII

Class: Alpha Proteobacteria
Genus: Aquamicrobium
Species: Aquamicrobium aestuarii
Description: Aquamicrobium aestuarii is a gram-negative, catalase- and oxidase-positive strictly aerobic, motile bacteria with a flagellum from the genus of Aquamicrobium which was isolated from the Yellow Sea in South Korea.Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-spore-forming, motile, ovoid rods with two polar flagella (0.5–0.7µm wide and0.8–1.4µm long). Colonies on MA are ivory, convex and round with entire margins. Growth occurs at 15–45℃(optimum,30–35℃), at pH 5.5–9.0 (optimum, pH 6.5–7.5) and in the presence of 0–4.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 0–2 %).Anaerobic growth is not observed.
