| Description: | Bradyrhizobium jicamae, isolated from effective nodules of Pachyrhizus erosus.Gram-negative rods as characteristic for the other species of the genus. Colonies are small and pearl white in YMA at28uC. Grows from pH 6 to 8, with optimum growth at pH 7. Grows at temperatures from 5 to 32℃, with optimum growth at 28℃. Grows in the presence of 1 % NaCl. Strictly aerobic. Nitrate reduction is positive.Production of arginine dihydrolase and β-galactosidase and hydrolysis of aesculin are negative. |
