BRADYRHIZOBIUM PACHYRHIZI

Class: Alpha Proteobacteria
Genus: Bradyrhizobium
Species: Bradyrhizobium pachyrhizi
Description: Bradyrhizobium pachyrhizi,The strain BR 3262 was isolated from cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) nodules cultivated in soil from Atlantic Forest Region of Brazil. The strain is efficient for cowpea biological nitrogen fixation and is officially recommended as inoculant for this crop.Gram-negative rods as characteristic for the other species of the genus. Colonies are small and pearl white in YMA at28℃. Grows from pH 4.5 to 8, with optimum growth at pH 7. Growth occurs at temperatures from 5 to 37℃, with optimum growth at 28℃. Does not grow in the presence of 1 % NaCl. Strictly aerobic.
