BREVUNDIMONAS POINDEXTERAE

Class: Alpha Proteobacteria
Genus: Brevundimonas
Species: Brevundimonas poindexterae
Description: Named to honour Jeanne S.Poindexter, who contributed much to our current understanding of the Caulobacterales & The species can grow on peptone-yeast extract medium without NaCl. Gram-negative,aerobic, non-spore-forming, prosthecate cells; colonies tan coloured, cells bacteroid. No S layer is detected and multiple bands of polysaccharides are observed .
