| Description: | Dinoroseobacter shibae,a new aerobic phototrophic bacterium isolated from dinoflagellates.Pseudococci or ovoid cells, 0.3–0.7µm long and 0.3–1.0µm (to 2.0) wide. Uses acetate, succinate, fumarate,malate, lactate, citrate, glutamate, pyruvate, glucose, fructose and glycerol as carbon source, but not methanol,ethanol or butyrate. Requires biotin, nicotinic acid and 4-aminobenzoic acid as growth factors. |
