Description: Gluconacetobacter nataicola,cells are Gram-negative,and rod-shaped,measure 0.5-0.8 by1.0-1.5 micrometer,occur singly or in pairs and are non-motile.Strictly aerobic,catalase-positive and oxidase-negative.Cellulose is produced,but water-soluble brown pigment is not.Acetate and lactate are oxidized to carbon dioxide and water.
