HANSSCHLEGELIA PLANTIPHILA
| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Hansschlegelia |
| Species: | Hansschlegelia plantiphila |
| Description: | Hansschlegelia plantiphila,A new genus, Hansschlegelia, and a new species, Hansschlegelia plantiphila, are proposed for three strains of methanol-utilizing bacteria isolated from lilac buds (strain S1T), linden buds (strain S2) and blue spruce needles (strain S4), which were selected in winter at −17 °C. These bacteria are aerobic, Gram-negative, colorless, non-motile short rods that multiply by binary fission and employ the ribulose bisphosphate (RuBP) and the serine pathways for C1 assimilation. The strains have a limited number of growth substrates and use methanol, methylamine, formate, CO2/H2 and glycerol as carbon and energy sources.Hansschlegelia plantiphila is a Gram-negative, aerobic and non-motile bacterium species from the genus of Hansschlegelia.Hansschlegelia plantiphila can utilize methanol. |
