| Description: | Loktanella hongkongensis,a novel member of the α-Proteobacteria originating from marine biofilms in Hong Kong waters .Cells of the type strain are Gram-negative, short rods,immotile and not forming spores. Colonies are pink in colour, convex with entire margins and have smooth and shiny surfaces. The colony size is 1–2 mm after 48 h of cultivation on marine agar 2216 at 30℃. |
