| Species: | Loktanella rosea |
| Description: | Loktanella rosea,Rod-shaped cells, single, about 0.7–0.9µm in diameter.Gram-negative. Non-motile. Chemo-organotroph withrespiratory metabolism. Colonies are uniformly round,1–3 mm in diameter, regular, convex, smooth, transparentand pinkish after incubation for 48–74 h on marine agar. Nodiffusible pigment is released into the medium. Endosporesare not formed.Oxidase-andcatalase-positive.Na+orseawater is required for growth. Growth occurs in mediawith 1–12 % NaCl. Mesophilic.
