| Description: | Maritalea porphyrae,Cells are Gram-negative-staining rods, approximately 0.42µm wide and 1.58µm long(n530) with a single polarflagellum. Gliding motility is not observed. Bud formation,poly-β-hydroxybutyrate accumulation and bacteriochlorophyll a are absent. Colonies on MA are circular, convex,entire, creamy and approximately 0.4 mm in diameter(n530). Growth is aerobic. |
