OCEANICAULIS ALEXANDRII
| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Oceanicaulis |
| Species: | Oceanicaulis alexandrii |
| Description: | Oceanicaulis alexandrii was first isolated from a marine dinoflagellate and is related to the group of budding bacteria within the alpha proteobacteria. These bacteria are dimorphic, producing stalked and non-stalked cells. They can be isolated from a wide range of sources, including soils, freshwater, and marine environments. Oceanicaulis alexandrii has characteristic cross walls in its stalks which differentiates it from other stalked marine bacteria.Oceanicaulis alexandrii ,a novel stalked bacterium isolated from a culture of the dinoflagellate Alexandrium tamarense (Lebour) Balech. |
