OCEANICAULIS STYLOPHORAE
| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Oceanicaulis |
| Species: | Oceanicaulis stylophorae |
| Description: | Oceanicaulis stylophorae, isolated from the reef-building coral Stylophora pistillata.Cells are Gram-stain-negative, aerobic and rod-shaped (0.5–0.8µm diameter and 0.9–1.3µm length). In the early stage, cells are non-stalked and motile by means of a single polar flagellum. During binary fission, one cell possesses a stalk and the other a single polar flagellum. Adult cells are non-motile with stalks. Colonies on MA are beige, circularand convex with entire edges, and approximately 0.8–1.0 mm in diameter after 72 h incubation at 30℃. |
