OCHROBACTRUM CICERI

Class: Alpha Proteobacteria
Genus: Ochrobactrum
Species: Ochrobactrum ciceri
Description: Ochrobactrum ciceri, isolated from nodules of chickpea (Cicer arietinum) in Pakistan.Cells are Gram-staining-negative (amino peptidase-positive), aerobic (oxidase- and catalase-positive), highly motile, dumbbell-shaped short rods, commonly observed as single cells. Growth occurs on YEM agar, LB agar and NA at 28–37℃. Colonies (2–3 mm diameter) are circular,off-white, mucoid and translucent with entire margins. No colony pigment development is observed on any medium.
