PARACOCCUS AMINOPHILUS
| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Paracoccus |
| Species: | Paracoccus aminophilus |
| Description: | Coccoid cells (0.5 to 0.9 µm in diameter) or short rods (0.9 to 2.0 µm long). Occur singly, in pairs or in clusters. Colonies on PYG medium at 30°C for 2 days are white to light yellow. Gram-negative, nonmotile. Granules of poly-p-hydroxybu- tyric acid accumulate in the cells.
