| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Paracoccus |
| Species: | Paracoccus carotinifaciens |
| Description: | Paracoccus carotinifaciens, a new aerobic Gram-negative astaxanthin-producing bacterium .The strain E-396T, isolated from soil, was Gram-negative, aerobic, orangepigmented, rod-shaped, motile by peritrichous flagella and astaxanthin-producing.
