| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Phaeobacter |
| Species: | Phaeobacter aquaemixtae |
| Description: | Phaeobacter aquaemixtae, isolated from the junction between the ocean and a freshwater spring .A Gram-reaction-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming, non-motile and rod-shaped or ovoid bacterial strain, designated SSK6-1T, was isolated from the zone where the ocean and a freshwater spring meet at Jeju island, South Korea. Strain SSK6-1T grew optimally at 30 °C, at pH 7.0–7.5 and in the presence of 2.0 % (w/v) NaCl. |
