SPHINGOBIUM FANIAE

Class: Alpha Proteobacteria
Genus: Sphingobium
Species: Sphingobium faniae
Description: A bacterial strain capable of degrading pyrethroid, designated JZ-2(T), was isolated from activated sludge treating pyrethroid-contaminated wastewater. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain JZ-2(T) belongs to the genus Sphingobium.
