Class: Beta Proteobacteria
Genus: Acidovorax
Species: Acidovorax wautersii
Description: Acidovorax wautersii,Three Gram-negative strains, NF 1078(T), NF 1598 and NF 1715, were isolated from clinical (two) and environmental (one) samples, respectively.Gram-negative rods morphologically fitting the description of the genus Acidovorax i.e. 0.2–0.7µm by 1.0–5.0µm.Aerobic growth occurs on trypticase soy agar at 20 and37℃, but not at 42℃. Colonies are smooth, convex, non-pigmented and reach 1–2 mm after 2 days of incubation at 30℃. Motile by one polar flagellum. Oxidase- andcatalase-positive.
