Description: Burkholderia diffusa is a gram-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming bacterium from the genus of Burkholderia and the family of Burkholderiaceae which belongs to the Burkholderia cepacia complex.Cells are Gram-negative, aerobic, non-sporulating rods.Colonies are moist or smooth. Known strains grow on MacConkey agar.Growth is observed at 30and 37℃, but is strain-dependent at 42℃. So far,pigmented strains have not been detected and haemolysis has not been observed.
