POLYNUCLEOBACTER ACIDIPHOBUS

Class: Beta Proteobacteria
Genus: Polynucleobacter
Species: Polynucleobacter acidiphobus
Description: Polynucleobacter acidiphobus,Curved, non-motile rods, 0.5–1.4µm in length and 0.4–0.5µm in width. Chemo-organotrophic, aerobic and anaerobic growth. Planktonic, free-living lifestyle. Inhabits various freshwater habitats. Can be cultivated on NSY and R2A medium. Colonies grown on NSY agar are unpigmented, circular and convex with smooth surface. Mesophilic; no growth at 5℃ but grow that 35℃.
