| Description: | Arcobacter mytili,an indoxyl acetate-hydrolysis-negative bacterium isolated from mussels.Cells are Gram-negative, non-encapsulated, non-spore-forming, slightly curved rods, some S-shaped, 0.4-0.6 µm wide and 1-3 µm long. Motile by means of a single polar flagellum. Colonies on BA incubated in aerobic conditions at 30 oC for 48 h are 2-4 mm in diameter, beige to off-white,circular with entire margins, convex and non-swarming. |
