| Description: | Cells are spiral, Gram-negative rods, motile, 0.2-0.4 µm wide and 1.9-3.3 µm long, possessing a single flagellum at both poles. After subculturing on nutrient sheep-blood agar, colonies are grey-green, flat with rough margins and slightly mucoid-looking; after 72-96 h at 37°C under microaerobic conditions, colonies are smooth, α-haemolytic, 1-2 mm in diameter. |
