SULFURIMONAS GOTLANDICA

Class: Epsilon Proteobacteria
Genus: Sulfurimonas
Species: Sulfurimonas gotlandica
Description: Gram-negative, slightly curved or spirilla-shaped cells. Motile by one polar flagellum or two flagella at opposite poles. Cells exhibit a positive chemotactic response to nitrate. Cell sizes are 0.66±0.083 x 62.1±0.54 μm. Cells have a tendency to aggregate at older stages. Psychro- and aerotolerant. The temperature range for growth is 4-20°C. Optimal growth occurs at 15°C and pH 6.7-8.0.
