Description: Cells are non-motile, Gram-negative, small coccoid or pleomorphic rods. Colonies on bovine blood agar are regular, circular, slightly raised, greyish and 1.0–1.5 mm in diameter after 24 h incubation at 37°C. Haemolysis is normally not observed on calf blood agar but may be observed, with the type strain being non-haemolytic.Weakly CAMP positive using bovine blood.

Source: Isolated from various pathological lesions in rabbits,septicaemia in a kitten and conjunctiva of a hare. The type strain which was isolated from a joint of a rabbit in Sri Lanka.
