Description: Cells are motile Gram-negative rods, non-encapsulated and non spore forming, 1.7–1.9 μm long and 0.5–0.7 μm wide with a polar flagella of 9.6–16.1 nm wide.

Source: The type strain was isolated from the Lake Pyhälampi (municipality Hauho), which showed elevated nitrogen content.
