| Description: | Cells are straight, non-spore-forming, non-encapsulated,motile rods, 0.7μm wide and 2.5μm long. Gram-negative,oxidase- and catalase-positive, reduces nitrate to nitrite and resistant to vibriostatic agent O/129. Displays two colony types on TSA and blood agar. Colonies on TSA are 4–5 mm in diameter; one colony type is opaque, circular and beige in colour, while the other is translucent, after 48 h at 30°C. |
