ALTEROMONAS NAPHTHALENIVORANS

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Alteromonas
Species: Alteromonas naphthalenivorans
Description: Cells are Gram-staining-negative, strictly aerobic, motile rods with a single flagellum (0.7–1.0μm wide and 1.6–2.7μm long). Colonies on MA are cream coloured, circular, convex and smooth. Growth occurs at 4–37°C (optimum, 25–30°C), pH 6.0–9.0 (optimum, pH 7.0–7.5) and 0.5–9.0 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2 %).
