AQUISALIMONAS LUTEA
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Aquisalimonas |
| Species: | Aquisalimonas lutea |
| Description: | Cells are rod-shaped, 0.05–0.1×1.0–5.0 µm in size and stain Gram-negative. Endospores are not produced. Colonies are circular, opaque and yellow-pigmented with a diameter of 0.2–0.5 mm after 5 days incubation at 37 °C on plates containing 7.5 % (w/v) total salts. Growth occurs at 15–45 °C and pH 6.0–9.0 with optimal growth at 37 °C and pH 7.5. Moderately halophilic, growth is not observed without NaCl. Growth occurs in the presence of 5–20 % (w/v) salts and optimally in media containing 7.5 % (w/v) salts. Unable to grow anaerobically. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Nitrate and nitrite are reduced. |
