| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Arhodomonas |
| Species: | Arhodomonas aquaeolei |
| Description: | Growth in liquid cultures is uniformly turbid with a pellicle forming after 72 h of incubation. Gram-negative, short, straight, rod-shaped cells that are 0.8 to 1.0 μm in diameter and 2.0 to 2.5 μm long and occur singly or in pairs. Motile by means of a single polar flagellum.
