Description: Morphology includes ellipsoidal or rod-shaped cells,usually 2.5-3.5 μm in length and 1.6-2.1 μm wide,occurring singly or in pairs and occasionally forming short chains,and on media containing ethanol,the formation of very large coccoid,spindle shaped or filamentous cells.
Synonyms: Azomonotrichon macrocytogenes (Jensen 1955) Thompson and Skerman 1981, "Beijerinckia macrocytogenes" (Jensen 1955) Rubenchik 1959, "Azomonas macrocytogenes" (Jensen 1955) Baillie et al. 1962.
