Description: Grows on blood agar under facultatively anaerobic conditions at 37°C. Capnophilic. Colonies are 0.1–0.5 mm in diameter, shiny and greyish after 24 h. Cells are coccoid to rod-shaped. Non-haemolytic. Produces succinic acid under anaerobic conditions in the presence of a substrate such as glucose.
