COLWELLIA CHUKCHIENSIS
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Colwellia |
| Species: | Colwellia chukchiensis |
| Description: | Cells are Gram-negative, psychrotolerant, curved rods (0.5–1.0×1.1–4.5 µm). Motile by means of a single polar flagellum. Growth occurs under anaerobic conditions on MA and on MA supplemented with nitrate. Colonies are non-pigmented, convex, circular and smooth with entire edges. Growth occurs at 0–30 °C (optimum 23–25 °C), but not at 33 °C, at pH 5.0–10.5 (optimum pH 6.0–8.0) and with 0.5–8.0 % (w/v) NaCl, but not without NaCl. |
