CRONOBACTER UNIVERSALIS
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Cronobacter |
| Species: | Cronobacter universalis |
| Description: | Cells are straight, Gram-negative, non-spore-forming rods with variable motility (the type strain is non-motile). Colonies on TSA incubated at 37°C for 24 h are 2–3 mm in diameter, opaque, circular and yellow. Grows on MacConkey agar. In TSB, grows at 45°C (optimum 37°C), but not at 5°C. No haemolysis is observed on sheep blood agar at 37°C. |
