IDIOMARINA INDICA

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Idiomarina
Species: Idiomarina indica
Description: Cells are Gram-negative, aerobic and rod-shaped, occurring singly and approximately 0.4–0.5 µm in width and 1.0–8.5 µm in length. Cells are motile by means of a polar flagellum. No endospores are observed. The temperature range for growth is 12–50 °C and growth is optimal at 35–37 °C. The pH range for growth is 6.0–9.0 and growth is optimal at pH 7.0–7.5. Colonies on agar plates were smooth, circular, yellow and translucent and measured 1.0–1.5 mm in diameter after cultivation at 35 °C for 48 h.
