Description: Cells are straight rods, 0.5–0.7 x 2–3μm, Gram-negative, motile by scant peritrichous flagella. Facultatively anaerobic and chemo-organotrophic, having both a respiratory and a fermentative type of metabolism. Colonies are circular, convex, greyish and smooth on nutrient agar, with growth at 30 and 37°C.
