MARICHROMATIUM BHEEMLICUM
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Marichromatium |
| Species: | Marichromatium bheemlicum |
| Description: | Cells are rod-shaped, 0.8–1.0μm wide and 2–4μm long, motile and multiply by binary fission. Gram-negative.Growth occurs under anaerobic conditions in the light(photolithoautotrophy, photolithoheterotrophy and photoorganoheterotrophy). Internal photosynthetic membranes are of the vesicular type. The colour of phototrophic cultures is reddish brown. |
