MARINOBACTER ANTARCTICUS

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Marinobacter
Species: Marinobacter antarcticus
Description: Cells are Gram-staining-negative rods (1.5–2.3μm long and 0.5–0.8μm wide), motile by means of a single polar flagellum, and oxidase- and catalase-positive. Colonies on TYS agar are cream, circular (1.5–2.0 mm in diameter) and convex with smooth surfaces after incubation for 5 days at 15°C.
