MARINOBACTERIUM MARITIMUM
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Marinobacterium |
| Species: | Marinobacterium maritimum |
| Description: | Cells are Gram-negative, aerobic, slightly halophilic,oxidase- and catalase-positive, straight rods (0.5–0.6 x 0.8–0.9μm), motile by means of a single polar flagellum. Favourable growth occurs aerobically, with circular colonies with regular edges forming within 3 days, approx. 2.0–3.0 mm in diameter. Growth occurs at 7–37°C (optimum, 25–28°C), at pH 5.5–9.0 (optimum,pH 7.5–8.0) and in 0.5–7 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1–2 %) |
