MESOCRICETIBACTER INTESTINALIS

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Mesocricetibacter
Species: Mesocricetibacter intestinalis
Description: Members of the genus are Gram-negative staining, pleomorphic rods, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile at both 22 and 37°C and positive for oxidase. They do not show in vitro satellite growth, referred to as V-factor or NAD requirement. After 24 h of aerobic incubation at 37°C on bovine blood agar,β-haemolysis is not observed. Isolates on bovine blood agar form greyish, shiny, regular and circular colonies with smooth appearance. Adherence to the blood agar may occur.
