| Description: | Cells are slender, single and occur in chains or filaments of indefinite length; rod-shaped with dimensions of 0.3–0.4 x 3.0–6.0μm. Longer and coccoid cells are also present. Aerobic, Gram-negative, motile, non-spore-forming and encapsulated. Colonies in agar are sunken due to agar liquefaction. Yellowish-brown pigment that diffuses into the medium is produced from peptone. |
