| Description: | Cells are Gram-negative cocci (1–1.5μm diameter), non-endospore-forming. Catalase-positive, oxidase-positive and aerobic. Colonies are circular, non-pigmented, smooth,entire and do not produce a diagnostic odour on Columbia blood agar after 48 h incubation at 37°C. Colonies are non-haemolytic. Growth occurs at 22–42°C, but not at 15°C. |
