Description: Gram-negative, cocoid to rod cells, bipolar staining, nonmotile.On blood containing solid media small colonies of about 1 mm in diameter with graish or semitranslucent appearance are formed. Non-hemolytic, facultatively aerobic, V-factor independent.Growth on MacConkey is negative.Optimum temperature is 36 ºC.
