Description: Gram-negative, motile, coccobacilli, 1.6 x 3.2 μm.Colonies are smooth, transparent, convex, yellow, 1 mm in diameter. Grows on blood agar, BHI-agar, TSA supplemented with 1% NaCl, Thiosulfate citrate bile sucrose agar, and Marine agar; unable to grow in the absence of Na+. Grow in nutrient broth with 1-6% NaCl. Optimum temperature 30 ºC. No growth at 4 or 40 ºC.Facultative anaerobe, chemoorganotrophic, luminescent , no hemolysin production.
