Description: Growth at 4,22, and 37"C, but not at 42°C. Small (diameter, approximately 0.5 mm) lactose-negative colonies are formed on MacConkey and nutrient agar media; nonhemolytic on sheep blood agar. Most strains are methyl red positive; indole is not produced. Urea is not hydrolyzed.
