Description: Cells are Gram-negative straight rods (0.3 0.5 x 1.5- 3.0 μm), motile by means of a single polar flagellum.Colonies are circular and colourless. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. No growth is observed without NaCl in the medium at pH 10, whereas growth is seen at pH 7 in absence of NaCl. Facultatively psychrophilic alkaliphilic strains.
