PSEUDOMONAS AZOTIFIGENS

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Pseudomonas
Species: Pseudomonas azotifigens
Description: Cells are Gram-negative straight rods, 2–5μm long and 0.5μm wide, and motile. Colonies are translucent, wrinkled and with obscure edges when grown on LB agar. Growth in LB medium is observed at pH 6.1–9.8, 28–41°C and in the presence of 2.5–5 % NaCl. Nitrogen fixation in NFMM is observed in the presence of 2–6 % oxygen in the gas phase.
