PSEUDOMONAS GUARICONENSIS

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Pseudomonas
Species: Pseudomonas guariconensis
Description: Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, non-spore-forming,rod-shaped cells of 1.9–3.1μm in length and 0.8–0.9μm indiameter and motile by means of two polar flagella.Colonies on nutrient agar are circular, convex, beige, translucent and usually 1.5–2.0 mm in diameter within 2 days of growth at 28°C. Growth temperature range is 5°C–44°C and pH range for growth is 5–10. Can grow with 0–6 % NaCl in nutrient broth. A diffusible fluorescent pigment is produced on King’s B medium. Strictly aerobic with oxidative metabolism and no fermentation of sugars in peptone media.
