PSEUDOMONAS JAPONICA

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Pseudomonas
Species: Pseudomonas japonica
Description: Cells are Gram-negative, aerobic, motile by means of polar multitrichous flagella, non spore-forming, straight rods (2.0–3.5 by 1.3–1.7μm) and usually occur singly or in pairs. Colonies are circular, flat, opaque, creamy white to pale yellow with slightly spreading edges on nutrient agar. Pyocyanin and fluorescent pigments are not produced on either King A or King B medium. Cells are able to grow in nutrient broth at 30 and 37°C, but not at 4 or 42°C.
